Vintage Original Roberta Bernays women\'s black velvet turban or toque-style hat, estimated to date from the 1940s to early 1950s. Features a softly structured crown with gathered and pleated velvet construction, a brimless silhouette, and a black grosgrain interior band. The interior retains the Original Roberta Bernays designer label and union-made identification label. The hat measures approximately 11 inches across the exterior, with an interior opening measuring approximately 8–9 inches across as photographed. Vintage sizing can vary, so please compare the measurements with a properly fitting hat. Condition: Excellent used vintage condition. The velvet presents well with no visible holes, tears, or significant structural damage. Minor lint or light surface dust may be present from storage. Interior labels show normal age-related wear. Includes a vintage cardboard hat box from The Fair department store in Chicago. The box shows substantial age and storage wear, including creasing, tears, tape residue, staining, abrasions, and writing. The box may not be original to the hat and is included for storage and period presentation. Please review all photographs for measurements, construction details, and condition.
